Lily Wilmoth grew up in the ballet studio. Her mother, Caroline Kraehe, was a professional dancer, owned her own studio for many years, and has taught around the world. Lily was blessed with wonderful opportunities to dance in Canada and Germany before moving to the US, where she was placed in a rigorous program at Infinity Ballet Conservatory in Apex, NC. She trained under Debra Sayles-Senchak as well as her mother in Vaganova Method classical ballet, character, and modern dance.
As a company member of Infinity Ballet Theater, Lily had opportunities to perform as a soloist in ballets such as Graduation Ball, Paquita, Don Quixote, Cinderella, and The Sleeping Beauty, as well as perform variations from several classical ballets including Le Corsaire, La Bayadere, Satinella, Walpurgisnacht, and Swan Lake.
Lily attended summer programs at Canada’s National Ballet School and American Ballet Theater, and trained under artists Alaine Haubert, Melissa Allen, Luba Gulyaeva, Alexei Borovik, Timor Bourtasenkov, and Rossana Gahagan.
As her graduation performance, Lily performed the principal role of Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee alongside guest artists Nick Hagelin and Nikolai Smirnov of The Carolina Ballet.
After committing most of her life to dancing, Lily suffered a severe back injury which prevented her from pursuing a professional career in ballet. But God had a different plan for her life, which included receiving a B.A. in Biblical Studies, getting married, and beginning a career of lifelong teaching as a Classical Christian school teacher, classical ballet teacher, and a mom of three beautiful children! Lily has been gifted with a passion for teaching, just like her mother. She is dedicated to sharing her joy of dance, and the awe-inspiring beauty of ballet, with the next generation.
Fun fact: The Wilmoth family owns a homestead and soapmaking business in Hurt, VA, where they raise 3 cats, 2 dogs, 60 chickens, 15 guinea hens, 4 goats, and more always coming!
